Ingredients:
2 nos.- potatoes grated
1 nos.- onion thinly sliced
1 nos.- green chilli
½ cup - gram flour
1 tbsp - semolina
1 tsp - red chilli flakes
1 tsp - garam masala
1 tsp - salt
1 tsp - lemon juice
4 - bread slices
Oil for frying
Recipe/Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, asafoetida, chopped green chilies, and salt.
Gradually add water while stirring to make a smooth batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Add the sliced potatoes and onions to the batter, ensuring they are well coated.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadai on medium heat.
Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter-coated potato and onion slices into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.
Fry the pakodas until they turn golden brown and crisp, flipping them occasionally for even frying. This should take about 4-5 minutes per batch.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried pakodas from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves (if desired) and serve hot with green chutney or tamarind chutney and a cup of tea.
Enjoy your homemade Aloo Pyaz Pakoda with green chutney or sauce!
Suggestion
Make sure onion are thinly sliced.
Adding rice flour make pakoda crispier.
Always serve pakoda hot with green chutney, can use sauce or other dip but green chutney tastes better.
