Moong Dal Chilla made with soaked and ground split moong lentil batter spiced with cumin, fresh ginger and green chilies or red chilies. Further various vegetables like onions, carrots, tomatoes and coriander leaves can be added to enhance the nutritive value.
Like Besan Chilla this chilla is gluten free and full of protein.

Moong dal (yellow moong lentils) - 1 cup
Rice - ¼ cup
Red Chilli Powder - ½ tsp
Green Chilli - 1 tsp chopped
Salt - ½ tsp or to taste
Water - ¾ cup
For Filling/Stuffing:
Potato - ½ cup cut in tiny pieces
Pea - ½ cup
Cottage Cheese - 1 cup grated
Red Chilli Powder - ½ tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - ½ tsp
Dry Mango Powder - ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp
Coriander Leaves
Instructions:
💥Moong Dal Chilla Batter
👉As described this is an instant chilla without soaking dal, so preparation are:
Clean yellow moong dal and rice with a damp cloth so that the dust can be removed.
Make coarsed powder of dal and rice.
Add salt, green chilli and red chilli powder described above.
To make batter perfect, add ¾ cup water in two phases, not in one time.
Leave it aside for 10-15 minutes to set.
💥Preparation for paneer stuffing
Heat oil in a pan.
Add chopped onion and saute for 2 minutes.
Add chopped potato and peas.
Add salt to make veggies tender.
Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala,dry mango powder.
You can add paneer or place on potato stuffing when serve the chilla.
Mix well and add some coriander leaves.
💥 Method to Make Moong Dal Chilla
Heat tawa and sprinkle water on it to lower the temperature.
Grease tawa and pour batter.
Spread it in round shape.
When upper side gets dry, flip and cook it on other side.
When chilla looks crisp, spread green chutney on one side.
Now apply some stuffing and grated paneer on the chutney side.
Fold the chilla.
Serve with green chutney.

Grind moong and rice into a coarsely powder.
Rice gives crispiness to moong chilla.
To make crispy moong dal chilla, spread the batter thin and even.
Batter should be in medium consistency.
