Matar Makhana Curry

Hello friends, ever wondered how we can make restaurant style dishes at home with minimal steps and preserving the same taste. The simple ingredients used are mentioned below.

Ingredients:

  • Makhana (fox nut) - 1 cup

  • Peas - 1 cup

  • Onion - 1 cup (chopped )

  • Tomato - 2

  • Cashew - 5-7

  • Garlic - 5/6

  • Ginger - 1"

  • Red Chilli Powder - ½ tsp

  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder - ½ tsp

  • Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp

  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp

  • Salt - 1 tsp

  • Garam Masala - ½ tsp

  • Kasoori Methi - 1 tsp

  • Cream - ½ cup

  • Oil - 3 tbsp

Instructions:

  • Dry roast 1 cup fox nut.

  • Heat 1 tbsp .

  • Fry chopped onion,garlic,ginger and tomato.

  • Saute till onion, garlic and tomato get tender.

  • Add 5-7 cashews.

  • Flame off.

  • Let them cool down and blend.

  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan.

  • Add cumin seeds,bay leaves and cloves.

  • Add onion tomato ginger-garlic and cashew paste.

  • When oil releases, add red chilli powder.

  • Add kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder.

  • Mix coriander powder.

  • Add peas and mix well.

  • Add 1 cup of water.

  • Add 1 tsp salt.

  • When peas get tender, add 1 cup more water.

  • Take a boil for 5-7 minutes til pea are soft.

  • When gravy comes to right consistency

  • Add roasted fox nuts . Cook for a while.

  • Add ½ cup cream.

  • Mix 1 tsp kasoori methi and garam masala.

  • Flame off.

  • Dish is ready.
